Washington State Recognizes Cross-Border Bond with Canada
The Washington State Legislature passed a resolution this week formally recognizing the deep cross-border relationship between Washington and British Columbia. Western Washington University highlighted the move, noting the region's long history of economic, cultural, and educational ties with our neighbors to the north.

Ferndale Students Celebrate Black History Month with Author Kwame Alexander
Ferndale Upper Elementary held its third annual African American Read-In this week, welcoming bestselling author Kwame Alexander as a special guest. Families came together for dinner and an evening centered on African American authors, literature, and storytelling.
If you missed it, Ferndale Public Schools shared a read-along video with the author that families can enjoy at home. A great reminder that Black History Month is about more than a calendar month.

WWU Seeking Student Trustee Applications Through April 12
Western Washington University is accepting applications for a Student Trustee position on the WWU Board of Trustees.
