Parking Rules Revamped: Bellingham Drops Minimum Parking Requirements
Starting Jan. 28, Bellingham will no longer require developers and homeowners to include a minimum number of parking spaces in new projects. The City Council approved this interim ordinance on Jan. 13, aiming to address the housing crisis by freeing up land for more housing instead of parking.
🏡 Why It Matters
Housing Boost: Developers can prioritize housing over parking, lowering costs and creating more units.
Homeowner Perks: Convert your garage into an ADU without worrying about parking.
Environmental Benefits: Supports denser development, reduces sprawl, and aligns with climate goals.
A full write up of this was posted earlier today by us here (including the YouTube video).

New Listing Alert (dibs!): Luxury Living on Chandler Parkway
I think once a week it’d be fun to look at the real estate listing and share. Heck, aren’t we all loving to browse and dream anyways…?
Well, there’s a new gem in town—and this one’s perched high above Barkley Village with views so good, they might just spoil you for life. 3161 Chandler Parkway, the kind of home that makes me want to say, “Yes, I’ll have my morning coffee while gazing at the San Juan Islands.”

The Details:
Price: $1,975,000 (or, as I like to call it, the “dream home” bracket).
Space: 3,657 sq ft of wow-worthy living, including 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Features: Hardwood floors, quartz countertops, sleek walnut cabinetry, and yes—a steam shower for those "treat yourself" moments.
Convenience: Main-level living with a bonus second primary suite downstairs, accessible by stairs or an elevator (because why not?).
Outdoor Bliss: A partially covered deck with stunning views of downtown, Bellingham Bay, and beyond.

Why It’s “The One” I’ll be dreaming about for a while:
This home isn’t just a place to live; it’d be a lifestyle upgrade (I’m using a Matthew McConaughey accent). With Barkley Village just down the hill, you’re a stone’s throw from all the coffee, dining, and shopping you could want—plus some epic sunset vibes to top it off.
I couldn’t find a picture of the elevator, but for all the photos — go visit the home or check out the Redfin here.
